The classic Balkan itinerary crosses more borders per week than anywhere else in Europe: Dubrovnik to Kotor to Tirana, or Belgrade to Sarajevo to Split. Every crossing normally kills an EU SIM or triggers brutal roaming rates — Montenegro, Serbia, Bosnia, Albania and North Macedonia are all outside EU roaming zones.

With the regional eSIM the same plan keeps working across all 11 countries: Google Maps on mountain roads, booking apps, ferry timetables and Instagram from the Adriatic. Hotspot sharing is supported, so one plan can cover a rental-car crew.

Regional eSIM vs Roaming and Local SIMs

Buying a local SIM in each Balkan country means passport registration at a kiosk five times per trip; roaming from an EU or UK plan in non-EU Balkans is billed at some of the highest rates in Europe.
